MHB's Surrogacy Seminar and Gay Parenting Expo Coming to Los Angeles for the First Time May 5, 2013!
We are proud to announce that the first ever West Coast Surrogacy Seminar and Gay Parenting Expo is scheduled to get underway May 5 at the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center’s Village at Ed Gould Plaza. The program we developed for LA will be similar to the latest format we had in NY, for which we received very positive feedback from prospective parents and exhibitors alike.
The groundbreaking event, designed to provide the most up-to-date information to gay prospective surrogacy parents, will feature 20 American and international surrogacy agencies and clinics; personal stories of dads who have gone through the surrogacy process themselves; and panel discussions featuring legal and medical experts, surrogates and egg donors, and information on both independent and agency-guided surrogacy. Twenty-four breakout sessions and an expo will allow prospective parents to become more familiar with exhibiting agencies and clinics, as well as supportive community organizations.
As in our previous conferences since we incorporated as a nonprofit organization, proceeds from sponsorship and exhibiting fees will benefit our Gay Parenting Financial Assistance Fund. Prospective parents from California and seminar attendees from other areas will be able to apply for financial assistance grants during the conference and even meet with MHB representatives for initial evaluation interviews.
Note: while the event is directed at gay prospective parents, the information will benefit anyone interested in becoming a parent through surrogacy.
Admission is free, but an RSVP is recommended to save time at check-in and to get updates on the fund application process, speakers, sponsors and breakout sessions as we add them.
